A Vivien Leigh room
In 2006, designs were drawn up by former Topsham Museum Society Vice President Caroline Oboussier for a new way of displaying the Vivien Leigh artefacts in the museum.
This design sketch shows that the dress remains a central artefact. The clear case would have allowed visitors to view the item from different angles.
The sketch also shows other artefacts on display, including a theatre seat reclaimed from the St. James's Theatre in London. Vivien Leigh campaigned unsuccessfully to save the theatre from demolition in 1957.
