Dresses at RAMM
The Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) in Exeter holds a number of dresses that belonged to Vivien Leigh. These dresses were passed from Vivien Leigh to Suzanne Farrington, who later gave them to Dorothy Holman. They were then passed on to RAMM.
Donated items include a petite, knee-length black dress made of broadtail, listed in accession notes for 15 July 1977 as ‘given to Topsham Museum by her [Vivien Leigh's] daughter Suzanne Farrington'; an evening dress in green and cream, and a pink synthetic evening dress.
The latter two items were let out for Suzanne Farrington to wear. They are listed in accession forms from 21 June 1977 as ‘worn at first nights, after-theatre parties.' (267-1977-1, 2)
