About the conference
The Stardom and the ArchiveĀ conference was a major output of the AHRC Reframing Vivien Leigh project. The event brought together scholars from Europe, Australia, the United States, Canada and the Middle East alongside archivists, film journalists, film historians, public audiences and film fan collectors.
The two-day event featured keynote addresses from Professor Maryanne Dever of University of Technology Sydney and Dr. Lucy Bolton and Queen Mary University of London. Across 10 panels, 28 speakers presented on research ranging from the private archives of Classical Hollywood stars to the graveyards of famous film faces and the public archives of celebrities like Germaine Greer.
