Rediscovering the Gone with the Wind nightdress

This image shows a portion of a display at Topsham Museum which recreates the discovery of the Gone with the Wind nightdress. The costume was found in a plastic bag inside a chest of drawers by Topsham Steward Ann McMenamin in the early 1990s. The current display features this reproduction of the bag and a glimpse of the fabric of the nightdress. It is placed inside a drawer for museum visitors to pull out and explore.
