This is the second letter in a chain of correspondence between Vivien Leigh's daughterSuzanne Farrington and Topsham Museum founder Dorothy Holman in 1976. The letter refers to an earlier offer made by Suzanne Farrington to place dresses belonging to her mother with Topsham Museum.
The letter suggests that Dorothy Holman accepted the donation of a black broadtail dress. Suzanne Farrington writes to express her happiness that her aunt is pleased with the dress, and adds further detail about her memories of how her mother wore the garment. She tells her aunt that the collar used to be pinned with a 'Georgian diamond rose brooch'.
She then offers Dorothy Holman two subsequent 'evening dresses of hers' which she has had let out. These were a green and cream coloured gown designed by the couturier 'Harald of Mayfair' and a pink evening dress. Both dresses, like the broadtail dress, were passed on to RAMM where they are currently stored.
